University of Central Punjab (UCP)

The Punjab Group of Colleges submitted a petition to the Government of the Punjab in August 1996 to allow to establish a private university in the Province. A No Objection Certificate was issued in October 1999. The charter to establish the University of Central Punjab (UCP) was awarded in April 2002. Thus this University clinched the distinction of becoming the first private sector university in the Punjab which acquired the status of a degree awarding institution.

When the University started its operations in October 1999, it offered courses in Management Studies, Information Technology, Commerce and Law through its principal constituents i.e. Punjab College of Business Administration (PCBA), Punjab Institute of Computer Sciences (PICS), Punjab College of Commerce (PCC), Punjab Law College (PLC) and Punjab College of Information Technology (PCIT), all situated in Lahore.

These Colleges were restructured as Faculties of the University and became the University of Central Punjab (UCP).

Today, the University is offering graduate,  post-graduate and PhD programs in seven faculties.
The university provides all the facilities to the students to complete the programs in a congenial environment.

Chairman’s Message

The Punjab Group of Colleges has been committed to the cause of education to our nation’s youth for over twenty eight years and is the largest educational network in Pakistan. Our experience and excellence has been proven time and again through our students’ achievements.

Our aim is to create a community that is increasingly entrepreneurial and even more reliant on technology and our courses are designed to give our students the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s competitive environment. We provide a stimulating and supportive environment, which focuses on the power of individual guidance and assistance. With the latest Labs, Computers and well-stocked Libraries, we give our students the tools they need to grow into competent, skilled and self-assured professionals. Punjab Colleges have an experienced, highly qualified and dedicated faculty. We have followed our passion and focused on our dreams.

Our story of growth, with God’s blessing, has been phenomenal. Punjab Colleges are functioning accurately and playing their part in imparting quality education with equal opportunities for boys and girls.

The studious students from small towns and cities used to commute to the cities where Punjab Colleges were operating thus spending good amount of time, money and energy. Keeping in view the problems and trends of the students and their parents, we decided to establish new colleges in the cities lacking the latest educational facilities and thanks to Almighty Allah, we are operating in seventy seven cities across Pakistan today.

Our vision for the future is defined by realism and a can-do spirit. Our focus is steadfastly on raising the quality of education to bring it at par not only with the best in Pakistan but with those who refer themselves as world-class educational institutions.

I assure you that your educational experience in our institutions, be it Punjab College of Commerce, Punjab College of Science or Punjab College for Women, will be a rewarding one both academically and culturally.
Insha’Allah!
